Saw Log NOTES:
  • ALL SAW LOGS REQUIRE 6″ TRIM.
  • LENGTHS
  • RED OAK Prime, Select and #1 logs: 8’6″, 9’6″, and 12’6″ LENGTHS preferred.
  • Walnut: 9’6″,10’6″,12’6″ LENGTHS preferred on all grades. 1/2 heart max on Prime and Select.
  • OTHER Hardwood LENGTHS:
         Ash preferred 8’6″ and 12’6″.
    All Other 8’6″ – 16’6″.

  • DIAMETERS
  • Ash:  We take 11 inch and up and low grade logs in a better price for our long term suppliers.
  • Other Hardwood Saw Log MAXIMUM diameter on butt end 36″.
  • Maple heart spec 1/3 heart max, except Soft Maple #2 is ½ heart max.
  • Standard deductions taken for sweep, rot, etc.
  • Hardwood logs not meeting specs would be culled or rejected.
